Since we like traditional sweets, today we bring you these classic fried donuts. Perfect for one of those breakfasts that are not forgotten and to be enjoyed slowly. This recipe is a classic from our grandmothers' cookbook, so you better not miss it because they are a delight.
Ingredients:
- 500g of flour
- 3 eggs
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 150g of sugar
- 100ml mild olive oil
- Lemon zest
- Sugar for coating
- Extra virgin olive oil for frying
Preparation:
- We beat the eggs in a bowl for 1-2 minutes.
- We add the sugar, lemon zest and olive oil. We beat everything until mixed and well integrated.
- Sift the flour along with the baking soda over the mixture and mix until you get a homogeneous dough that does not stick.
- We make a ball with the dough and wrap it in transparent film. We let it rest for approximately an hour.
- After resting, we divide the dough into small balls of between 5 and 10 grams depending on the size we want our donuts.
- We join the two balls, flatten them slightly and with the help of the little finger we make a hole in the center that we will open a little more, because when it is fried it will strain and if we make it too small it will be lost.
