Patatas a lo pobre

Potatoes are the ingredients that are never missing in any pantry; there are thousands of ways to prepare them. They are used both to prepare main dishes in which they are the undisputed protagonists or as a garnish.

These poor-quality potatoes are perfect to accompany meat or fish dishes, a garnish that always succeeds.


  • 5 potatoes
  • 2 onions
  • 1/2 red pepper
  • 2 green peppers
  • Extra virgin olive oil
  • Salt
  • 3 garlic cloves


  1. Peel the potatoes, wash and cut them in a bakery style, giving them a thickness of 2-3 mm.
  2. Peel the garlic, cut the onion into julienne strips and cut the peppers into strips or squares.
  3. We pour the olive oil into our 28cm Cooper frying pan , we must fill at least half of it so that it covers the vegetables and potatoes.
  4. Heat the oil over medium heat and add the whole garlic cloves. Once they begin to brown, add the rest of the ingredients.
  5. We lower the heat and let it cook slowly. It should not be fried, rather it is a way to preserve the ingredients.
  6. When we see that they are tender, it will take 15-20 minutes More or less, we remove it with the help of a slotted spoon, drain it and serve.
