Duo of custard, video recipe

vídeo receta

Custard or that dessert that reminds us of childhood. Grandmothers and mothers have been in charge of maintaining this traditional recipe for years and brightening up their children's snacks. The vanilla flavor, cinnamon or Maria cookie form an unforgettable team. In this case, we have added chocolate to give it a sweeter touch.

Ingredients:
  • 4 eggs
  • 1⁄2 l whole milk
  • 1 vanilla bean or 1 tbsp vanilla essence
  • 50g sugar
  • 50 g fondant chocolate for desserts
  • 1 c/s cornstarch
  • Cookies, almonds and mint to decorate
Preparation:
  1. Separate the yolks from the whites, reserving the whites for another recipe.

  2. In a large bowl, add the egg yolks, sugar, cornstarch and half of the milk. Beat well until well integrated.
  3. Meanwhile, heat the other part of the milk together with the vanilla without letting it boil.
  4. Once hot, add the mixture (milk, yolks and sugar) to the 16cm SOLID+ saucepan with the vanilla milk. Very little by little and without stopping stirring at any time.
  5. We continue stirring until the foam disappears and thickens, ensuring that it never boils.
  6. It is time to melt the chocolate in a bain-marie or in the microwave.
  7. We take out half of the custard from the 16cm SOLID+ saucepan and add the melted chocolate to the other half and continue stirring for a few minutes until combined.
  8. Pour the vanilla custard into small glasses first and then the chocolate custard to form the duo.
  9. Place in the refrigerator until cool and garnish at serving time with cookies, hazelnuts and mint.
