Country salad

Ensalada campera

Salads are for summer and this country salad is a classic. A traditional recipe that is never missing in most homes when summer begins. Refreshing, simple and perfect to drink alone or as a garnish for meat or fish.


  • 4 potatoes
  • 1 chive
  • 2-3 tomatoes
  • 2 eggs
  • Canned tuna, belly or melva
  • 1 green pepper
  • Salt
  • Extra virgin olive oil
  • Water

  1. We fill our CHEF 24cm high saucepan . of water and put it on the heat, once it starts to boil we add the unpeeled potatoes and the eggs. After 10 minutes we take out the eggs and set aside.
  2. Depending on the size, the potatoes will take between 25-40 minutes. We will prick them before removing them to check that they are tender. Once ready we take it out and let it cool.
  3. While the potatoes are cooking, chop the tomatoes, cut the onion into julienne strips and chop the pepper into small pieces.
  4. Cut the potatoes into large cubes, put them in a bowl and mix with the rest of the chopped ingredients.
  5. Season with salt, vinegar (optional) and olive oil. We can use the oil from the preserves to give it a fantastic flavor.
  6. We place the belly or the chosen preserves on top and serve.
