Skewers are a wild card in the kitchen, they are tasty and very versatile, it is possible to prepare them using any meat or fish, some combined with vegetables.
These beef skewers are Asian-style, very easy to prepare and with a different flavor thanks to the soy sauce that also gives them a very special oriental touch.
Ingredients: For the skewers:- 1kg of very tender beef or the sirloin part, cut into equal cubes
- 1 spring onion cut finely to decorate
- 6 wooden skewers.
- 100 ml low salt soy sauce
- 3 cloves of garlic, minced
- 35 ml sesame oil
- 50 ml vegetable oil
- 3 tablespoons of whole or muscovado sugar
- 1 teaspoon grated ginger
- 2 tablespoons sesame seeds
- 300 g long rice (rice mix)
- 900 ml of water
- Salt
- 1 sliced garlic
- Olive oil
- 1 tablespoon/coffee of turmeric
- Chopped parsley
- We are going to leave the beef cubes in marinade for between 1 and 6 hours, the longer the time, the more flavor the meat will have.
- Put the marinade ingredients in a bowl and mix well, add the meat cubes and mix so that all the pieces are coated. Soak the wooden skewers in water for approximately half an hour, this way they do not burn while the skewers are grilling.
- When the meat is marinated, prepare the skewers by placing about 6-8 cubes of meat on each skewer, depending on the size the pieces of meat are cut. Reserve the skewers while we prepare the rice for the garnish.
- In the 20 cm Monix Optima pot , bring the 900ml of water to a boil with a little salt and when it starts to boil, add the long rice, mix and let it cook for about 20 minutes.
- Drain the rice very well, while browning the sliced garlic over low heat with a little olive oil in the 24 cm Xtrem non-stick frying pan by Monix, add the rice and the teaspoon of turmeric, mix well and briefly sauté everything, finally add the chopped parsley. Reserve the rice.
- Heat the Monix 28x28 Xtrem grill without any oil. When it is very hot, grill the beef skewers on all sides until they are golden and juicy. It has been left with the help of a brush.
- Serve the freshly cooked skewers with onion rings on top and with rice as a garnish.
