Meatballs In Tomato Sauce

Albóndigas en salsa de tomate

We hope you like this dish as much as we do. For this occasion we have bought good bread, we are sure that we will not be able to stop dipping it. These meatballs in tomato sauce are a dish that will bring back wonderful memories, because our grandmothers and mothers loved to prepare it.

  • 1kg minced beef
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 1 eggs
  • 2 tablespoons breadcrumbs
  • Fresh parsley
  • 50ml milk
  • Salt
  • Ground black pepper
  • 800g crushed natural tomato
  • 1 onion
  • Extra virgin olive oil
  • Wheat flour

  1. First we start by making the sauce, to do this we put it in our 28cm Granite frying pan. 4-5 tablespoons of olive oil, add the chopped onion and sauté over low heat until completely tender.
  2. We add the crushed tomato, you can use it natural or canned, we cook over low heat until it reduces.
  3. Meanwhile, we prepare the meatballs by placing the minced meat, breadcrumbs, beaten egg, finely chopped garlic cloves, milk, salt and chopped parsley in a bowl.
  4. We mix, with the help of a wooden spoon until all the ingredients are well integrated, let it rest for a few minutes.
  5. On a plate we put a little flour, we shape our meatballs and we pass through the flour (be careful to remove the excess of this).
  6. In a 24cm Mineral pan . We add plenty of oil and fry our meatballs until they are ready, there is no need to make them too much because then they will finish cooking in the tomato sauce.
  7. We remove and drain on a plate covered with absorbent paper to remove excess oil. If you want the healthiest option to avoid frying them, you can bake them for 10-15 minutes at 180º (preheat the oven previously).
  8. Add the meatballs to the tomato and cook for 10-15 minutes.
  9. Now you just have to have the table ready, some good bread and enjoy the dish.
